TLC'S "SORT IT OUT" INITIATIVE

Big News! TLC is Going Green 🌍
Dear TLC Families,
We are thrilled to announce that Tracy Learning Center is officially becoming a Planet Heroes campus! To ensure our school meets California’s organic waste requirements (SB 1383), we are launching our school-wide 'Sort It Out' initiative starting today, in honor of Earth Day! From our TK explorers to our high school leaders, our students are learning the importance of sustainability while taking active steps to protect our local environment and the planet.
The "Sort It Out" (3-Bin) System:
- Green Bin: Organic compost (food waste/soiled paper).
- Blue Bin: Recyclables (clean containers/bottles).
- Gray Bin: General landfill trash.
Supporting the Initiative: To help your student transition to this new system, we encourage you to:
- Review lunchbox items with your child to identify what can be composted or recycled.
- Switch to reusable containers and utensils to minimize daily waste.
- Encourage students to bring home unfinished, non-perishable snacks.
We are so proud to see our students taking the lead in environmental action. If you have questions or want to volunteer with our student-led Green Recycle Team, please contact our coordinators; kdasilva@tracylc.net, mberolo@tracylc.net or lgarcia@tracylc.net.
Thank you for supporting our journey toward a greener future.
